Olbram Zoubek was a prominent Czech sculptor of the second half of the 20th century, awarded the State Medal of Merit for the First Grade.
He was born on April 21, 1926 in Prague, where he died 15 May 2017. Zoubek's exceptional style is characterized by the mixture of rough materials with metaphorical and antique motifs. He often worked with gilded or chrome lead or tin. His work includes a huge number of smaller sculptures, reliefs and monumental sculptures.
