Painter and sculptor in Prague. After practicing with sculptor J. Říha, he studied at the Art School in Prague, then in Russia, in Tiflis, at the branch of the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts at A. V. Issupov.
In Russia he worked as a sculptor, later as a teacher of drawing and modeling in Tiflis. In 1918 he became professor, then director of the art school in Samarkand. In 1922 he returned to his homeland. He exhibited a set of Russian Orient in the Rubeš Gallery in Prague in 1932.
