Demel Karel

Czech graphic designer and illustrator.

He was born on February 28th, 1942. After his studies at the State Conservatory he continued at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague with Professor Sklenar, and today he exhibits his works frequently in Germany, Belgium or the Netherlands. He is the essential part of the collection of the National Gallery in Prague. Karel Demel is one of the leading Czech graphic artists and illustrators. He is a significative representant of the Czech imaginative realism. He work is focused mainly on figurative themese, inspirated by the theater, music and poetry.
