Czech painter, graphic artist and illustrator, member of Group 42.
He was born on 7 April 1909 in Němčice u Holešova and he died on 13 May 1990 in Prague. František Hudeček started his artistic career at the Art School in Prague, where he began to exhibit regularly since 1932. The typical features of hiw works include lithographs, dry needles and woodcuts often made with cubist features, and later formed under the influence of op-art of the 1960s, until he came to the pure geometry influenced by surreal imagination. Hudeček's themes range from the characters, landscapes and urban scenery. He is still among the highly appreciated artists of the Czech avant-garde and the 20th century as such.
